News and Notes

This page is for Announcements, Requests and other Notes of Interest. We will also be listing the deaths of any of our graduates or teachers, as we become aware of their passing.  If you have information that you think your fellow graduates would like to know about, please feel free to contact the webmaster@goshenalumni.com about posting it on this page.

Due to the Coronavirus crisis, we have to cancel our annual Alumni Banquet.

The GHS Alumni Banquet was scheduled for May 9, 2020. We will also be unable to mail out our alumni newsletter in April. The newsletter is usually printed by the school, stuffed and labeled by students and mailed by the school board using their bulk mailing machine.  The governor has closed all the schools and this prevents us from sending out the newsletter and using the high school for the dinner. We hope that by next year, life will be back to normal and we will have our annual banquet.

We are happy to announce that we were able to meet and select this year's Hall of Fame members. They are Mary Jones Butts, Class of 1969, Chris York, Class of  1987, and legendary ball player Sam Leever, Class of 1889. You can find out more about these worthy grads by reading their biographies on our Hall of Fame Page.

We were also able to select our scholarship winners and will plan on giving them their money so that can attend their schools in the fall.  We will announce the winners after they have been officially notified.  We also want to THANK everyone who donated money last year so we could give out our scholarships this year.  If you can donate some money to the scholarship fund, please mail a check to GHS Alumni Association, P.O. Box 113, Goshen, Ohio 45122.

Thank you again for all your support through the years and we hope this health crisis passes  quickly and everyone is safe and healthy.  GO WARRIORS!

Bonnie Sue Mason Steele passed away on May 2, 2019.  She is mourned by hundreds of students, teachers, friends and family. Goshen Grads Give Back Project 2019

Students, Teachers and Grads got together on Friday February 1,2019 to complete a community project for the homeless.  Kerri Manz, Goshen Grad and school counselor, organized this project to make sandwiches, drinks, snacks and other helpful items for the homeless . This was started in 2015 when a Goshen Grad discovered a classmate, sick and homeless in downtown Cincinnai.  Kerri helped their classmate get IDs and helped in other ways and started organizing food, blankets and clothing for others in the same situation.  Students, teachers, alumni and community members donated items and their time to make sandwiches and care packages to be delivered  to the homeless on Saturday morning.  This year items were also donated to the Clermont county Homeless Shelter
